David James García is a native New Mexican from Rio Rancho. David studied at Oklahoma City University, where he earned a Bachelor of Music in Musical Theater and Vocal Performance. While at OCU, he appeared in Little Women (Professor Bhaer), Crazy For You (Lank Hawkins), and The Pirates of Penzance (Pirate King). His collegiate opera credits include La Rondine (Chorus), The Juniper Tree (Goldsmith), The Bartered Bride (Mícha), and L’amico Fritz (Hanezò). Upon graduating, David was chosen to participate in OCU’s Senior Talent Showcase in 2021. In 2023, he was chosen to participate in Jessica Vosk’s holiday concert at the Lensic Performing Arts Center as a featured duettist. Most recently, he was seen in the Santa Fe Playhouse’s 2024 production of Sunday in the Park with George (Louis/Billy Webster) and the workshop of Pueblo Revolt (Feem Whim).
